Whew! WOW! What a Week!

Published on 8/28/2016

Hey 7th Grade Students and Parents! Can you say ACTION-PACKED? I don't know about you, but it has been a whirlwind for me this week! I have really enjoyed meeting all of my new students, and I am pumped about the learning and growth ahead. I will have to say, the "name-learning process" is always challenging, but I am definitely working on it. It is my goal to commit your names to memory ASAP! (and to pronounce them correctly...no giggles, students!)  As we begin focusing on journal writing, parts of speech and the Writing Process, please know I am always here to help you, both students and parents. Talk to me in class. Email me. Call me. You are my priority! Remember that tricky little fact about my email. It is leslie.bennett@lcisd.org. I actually go by "Michelle" which is my middle name-I just like to challenge folks! LOL!

EDMODO Codes for each class period will be given out Monday, 8/29 in class. Here is the link should you need it.

I certainly understand what you may be feeling as a NEW 7th grade student. Here is the wonderful connection...I empathize with your probable feelings of anticipation mixed with a bit of anxiety We are in this together, you and I. Let me just say, I am so excited to meet all of my new students and begin our journey together! Bring on Monday, August 22, 2016. I am READY! ;-)

Teacher Profile

Ms. Leslie Bennett
Esl Teacher Jh

Hello! I am Leslie (Michelle) Bennett, and I am happy to introduce myself to you as a Reading Junior High 7th grade English teacher! As you probably noted, my first name, and the name used on my email is "Leslie." I have always gone by "Michelle" so that is how I introduce myself. I have been a teacher for thirteen years in multiple grade levels. During my tenure, I have enjoyed working in both 7th grade English and elementary classrooms. One of my greatest rewards is facilitating writing experiences for students and sharing in their growth as authors! It believe it is one of the most valuable learning experiences for 7th grade students, as well as me! I look forward to supporting students as they progress, and I value building successful learning relationships with all my students and parents!

My husband and I have been married 30 years. We have three adult children and a precious granddaughter!
