Lamar CISD seeking volunteers for Arredondo Attendance Boundary Committee

Nov 20, 2014 | Community Relations

Lamar CISD is seeking members for the Attendance Boundary Committee (ABC) for the zoning of John M. Arredondo Elementary, located in the Summer Park subdivision.

The ABC will require the following representatives:

•   Two representatives (from each campus): Thomas, Meyer and Hutchison elementary schools and Ryon, Navarro and Wessendorff middle schools; and
•   Three representatives (from each campus): Reading, George and Lamar junior highs and  George Ranch, Lamar Consolidated and Terry high schools.

The LCISD Zoning Process states only representatives from campuses affected by rezoning, and their feeder schools, will be involved in making the rezoning recommendation to the Board. The deadline to apply is Dec. 5. The Lamar CISD Board of Trustees is scheduled to approve the membership of the Committee at its Dec. 18 meeting.

This elementary zoning process will only determine who will attend Arredondo Elementary. It will have no impact on secondary (middle school, junior high, high school) attendance boundary zones.
