Enrollment & Transfers

New Student Enrollment for the 2024-2025

School Year

Students currently enrolled and returning to LCISD do not need to register - even if they are changing campuses due to Zoning, Leveling, or Uncapping.

Students new to LCISD enrolling in April or May 2024 for the current school year will follow the directions below beginning with Step One.

Enrollment for students new to LCISD for the 2024-2025 School Year is currently scheduled for the following dates and locations (subject to change). 

  • Pre-Kinder and Kindergarten Round-Up
    • Dates: April 22 - May 3 
    • Times: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
    • Locations: Zoned Campuses
    • Notes: Registration for new campuses will occur at the closest LCISD school if the new campus is not finished
  • Registration for Pre-Kinder through Grade 5
    • Dates: May 28 - June 6 
    • Times: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Monday through Thursday)
    • Locations: All Zoned Campuses
  • Central Registration for All Campuses and All Grade Levels (PK-12)
    • Dates: June 10 - July 18
    • Times: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday and Tuesday) 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Wednesday and Thursday)
    • Location: Wertheimer Middle School, 4240 FM 723, Rosenberg, 77471
    • Closed on July 19 for Juneteenth Holiday and July 1- 4 for Independence Day
  • On Campus Registration
    • Dates: July 24 - August 8
    • Times: Call campus for specific times
    • Locations: All District Campuses
    • No registration on August 7 (District Convocation)

Lamar CISD is proud to be among the fastest-growing districts in the state of Texas. In fact, demographers project that our community will add more than 48,000 new single-family homes within the next decade. 

To keep up with our growth, we are frequently building and opening new schools — while regularly reviewing and monitoring enrollment.  

Due to the growing student population that has resulted from new growth and development in the area, the district has enacted a cap on enrollment for students for the following campuses and grade levels: 

  • Bentley Elementary (Grades PK-5)
  • Hubenak Elementary (Grades 1-5)
  • Huggins Elementary (Grades 1-5)
  • Lindsey Elementary (Grades PK-5)
  • Morgan Elementary (Grades PK-5)
  • Tamarron Elementary (Grades PK-5)
  • George Ranch High School (Grades 9-12)

This decision allows class sizes to remain at acceptable levels while not overloading instructional programs at the campus. This enrollment cap is a temporary solution while the district continues to work towards building new schools in the area.

Families with students moving into the Bentley Elementary attendance zone will be rezoned for Adolphus Elementary, located at 7910 Winston Ranch Pkwy, Richmond, TX 77406, effective January 26, 2024. Transportation will be available to these families.

Families with students moving into the Hubenak Elementary zone will be rezoned for McNeill Elementary located at 7300 S. Mason Rd., Richmond, TX 77407, effective January 9, 2024. Transportation will be available to these families. 

Families with students moving into the Huggins Elementary zone will be rezoned for McNeill Elementary located at 7300 S. Mason Rd., Richmond, TX 77407, effective January 9, 2024. Transportation will be available to these families. 

Families with students moving into the Lindsey Elementary zone will be rezoned for McNeill Elementary located at 7300 S. Mason Rd., Richmond, TX 77407, effective January 9, 2024. Transportation will be available to these families.

Families with students moving into the Morgan Elementary zone will be rezoned for McNeill Elementary located at 7300 S. Mason Rd., Richmond, TX 77407, effective January 9, 2024. Transportation will be available to these families. 

Families with students moving into the Tamarron Elementary zone will be rezoned for Ray Elementary located at 2611 Avenue N, Rosenberg, TX 77471, effective August 1, 2023. Transportation will be available to these families. 

Families with students moving into the George Ranch High School attendance zone will be rezoned for Terry High School, located at 5500 Avenue N, Rosenberg, TX 77471, effective September 25, 2023. Transportation will be provided for families. Families with students moving into the George Ranch High School attendance zone who do NOT wish to attend Terry High School, may attend another high school in Lamar CISD, however, transportation will NOT be provided for families.

Lamar CISD se enorgullece en ser uno de los distritos de más rápido crecimiento en el estado de Texas. De hecho, los demógrafos tienen proyectado que nuestra comunidad construirá más de 48,000 nuevas casas unifamiliares dentro de la próxima década.

Para mantener este ritmo de crecimiento, construimos y abrimos nuevas escuelas con frecuencia, al mismo tiempo que revisamos y controlamos con regularidad las inscripciones—al mismo tiempo que se revisa y supervisa periódicamente las inscripciones. 

Debido a la creciente población estudiantil que ha resultado del nuevo crecimiento y desarrollo de la zona, el distrito ha establecido un límite en las inscripciones de estudiantes para los siguientes campus y grados escolares:

  • Bentley Elementary (de Pre-Kinder al 5o grado)  
  • Hubenak Elementary (del 1o al 5o grado) 
  • Huggins Elementary (del 1o al 5o grado)
  • Lindsey Elementary (de Pre-Kinder al 5o grado)

Esta decisión permite que el número de estudiantes por clase se mantenga en niveles aceptables sin sobrecargar los programas de instrucción del campus. Este límite de inscripciones es una solución temporal mientras el distrito sigue trabajando para construir nuevas escuelas en la zona.  

Las familias con estudiantes que se muden a la zona de la Escuela Primaria Bentley serán rezonificadas en la zona de la Escuela Primaria Adolphus ubicada en 7910 Winston Ranch Pkwy, Richmond, TX 77406 , a partir del 26 de enero del 2024. El transporte estará disponible para estas familias.  

Las familias con estudiantes que se cambien a la zona de Hubenak Elementary serán rezonificadas a McNeill Elementary ubicada en 7300 S. Mason Rd., Richmond, TX 77407 a partir del 9 de enero del 2024. Se ofrecerá medio de transporte para estas familias. 

Las familias con estudiantes que se muden a la zona de Huggins Elementary serán rezonificadas a McNeill Elementary ubicada en 7300 S. Mason Rd., Richmond, TX 77407 a partir del 9 de enero del 2024. Se ofrecerá medio de transporte para estas familias. 

Las familias con estudiantes que se muden a la zona de Lindsey Elementary serán rezonificadas a McNeill Elementary ubicada en 7300 S. Mason Rd., Richmond, TX 77407 a partir del 9 de enero del 2024. Se ofrecerá medio de transporte para estas familias. 

Las familias con estudiantes que se muden a la zona de Morgan Elementary serán rezonificadas para McNeill Elementary ubicada en 7300 S. Mason Rd., Richmond, TX 77407, a partir del 9 de enero de 2024. Se ofrecerá transporte a estas familias.  

Las familias con estudiantes que se muden a la zona de la Escuela Primaria Tamarron serán rezonificadas en la zona de la Escuela Primaria Ray ubicada en 2611 Avenue N, Rosenberg, TX 77471. El transporte estará disponible para estas familias. .  

Las familias con estudiantes que se muden a la zona de asistencia de George Ranch High School serán rezonificadas para Terry High School, ubicada en 5500 Avenue N, Rosenberg, TX 77471, a partir del 25 de septiembre de 2023. Se proporcionará transporte a las familias. Las familias con estudiantes que se muden a la zona de asistencia de la escuela George Ranch High School y que NO deseen asistir a la escuela Terry High School, pueden asistir a otra escuela secundaria en Lamar CISD, sin embargo, NO se proporcionará transporte a las familias.

Pre-Kinder and Kindergarten Qualifications

Pre-Kinder

  • For Pre-K, a student must be 4 years of age on September 1 of the school year in which they start and be eligible for Pre-Kindergarten services. For eligibility requirements, please click here.
  • For Kindergarten, a student must be 5 years of age or older on September 1 of the school year in which they start.

Follow the below steps to enroll your child(ren) in our district:

Step 1: Find Your LCISD Zoned School:

Please Note: Due to the Zoning and Leveling processes, elementary attendance zones are currently changing to match the new elementary attendance boundaries adopted by the Board in March and April 2024. Final elementary attendance zones for the 2024-2025 school year are expected to be in place by the end of May.

Step 2: Create a Family Access account and complete the New Student Online Enrollment

  • To complete the online enrollment for your student, you must have an active email address you can access.
  • Create a Family Access Account (one per household) by clicking the Access Skyward button below. Once you have submitted your request for a Family Access Account, you will receive an email with a secure link to complete the New Student Online Enrollment Application for your student(s).

Step 3: Collect the following required documentation for each student.

  • Proof of Residency: Closing documents or lease agreement or current fixed utility bill (gas, water, or electric) in parent/guardian’s name with an address in Lamar CISD.
  • A copy of parent/guardian government issued ID
  • Student Birth Certificate or Record of Birth or Passport
  • A copy of the student's Social Security Card (if available)
  • Student Immunization Record
    •  Please Note: If you would like your child to be exempted from school immunization requirements, review the process for obtaining the necessary affidavit by clicking here.
  • Academic Records from previous school -- most recent transcript or report card (depending on grade level)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Presenting false information or false records for enrollment is considered a criminal offense under Texas Penal Code 37.10 and could result in both criminal charges and liability for tuition expenses under Texas Education Code 24.001(h).


Step 4: Contact Zoned Campus to Complete the Registration Process

  • After completing the New Student Online Enrollment Application, contact your zoned campus to provide the parent/student documentation and finalize the campus enrollment procedures.

  • Find contact information for your zoned campus in our School Directory.

Intra or Inter District Transfer Requests

(Read below for qualifications before completing a request form)

  • If your student/s currently attends Lamar CISD and you move to a new address within the same Lamar CISD attendance zone, you do not need to complete a transfer application. Instead, contact the school your child will be attending to update your address and provide an updated proof of residency.

  • If you live in Lamar CISD and plan to move to another attendance zone within the first 6 weeks of a semester and want your student to start at their new school, please fill out the Intra-District Transfer application below.
  • If you live outside of Lamar CISD and plan to move to Lamar CISD within the first 6 weeks of a semester, please fill out the Inter-District Transfer application below.

Once you receive the Transfer approval email, complete the steps listed above for Enrollment for your student/s.
