Kathleen Joerger Lindsey was born in Rosenberg, Texas on January 7, 1916 to F. X. Joerger and Mary Elizabeth Kennedy Joerger.  She attended Our Lady of the Lake University for one year, then the University of Texas where she graduated in 1936 with a B.A. degree. Ms. Lindsey enrolled in the University of Texas Law School and obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in 1939.

Ms. Lindsey returned to Rosenberg to practice law in her father’s law firm, specializing in land titles.  She married R. W. Lindsey in 1948 and the pair practiced law together until her retirement in 1979.

Ms. Lindsey was an avid reader and regularly met with her beloved Share-a-Book club.  The twelve member group recognized the need for a public library beginning the Fort Bend County Library, first in the back of a Bookmobile, and later in an office building. The Fort Bend Library has expanded to 11 locations around Fort Bend County.

Ms. Lindsey was one of the six members on the Selection Committee that established the Richmond State School.  Ms. Lindsey was an active member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, until her passing in November 2015, where she made many monetary donations in memory of her parents and husband.   She donated funds for the construction of a gazebo in the Rosenberg Seaborne Creek Park in honor of her late husband.

She was a member of the Texas Bar Association, the Fort Bend County Museum, the Pecan Grove Garden Club, the Sweetwater Country Club, the Woman's Club of Rosenberg, the Holy Rosary Altar Society, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Holy Rosary #1476, the Museum of Fine Arts of Houston, the Ex-Students Association of the University of Texas, a Patron of the Junior League of Houston, and a member of the Rosenberg Railroad Museum.
