Welcome Mustang Parents!

I look forward to getting to know you and your student.  I'm sure we are going to have a fun and successful year!

As you know, the ability to read and write well is an integral part of education, and it affects all areas of life. With that in mind, you should see your student actively engaged in reading at least 30 - 45 minutes everyday. Research reveals that students who are engaged in sustained reading increase their reading comprehension and vocabulary development.

Technology Integration

Our students will be actively engaged in instructional technology to enhance and support learning in the classroom.  It is imperative that our students are checking their resources daily to stay up to date on reviews, assignments, tests, quizzes, etc.

The 40-40 Challenge

At LJH, this year we are challenging our students to read at least 40 books in 40 weeks, which includes the holiday breaks.  This effort will help support the reading climate in our classroom while enhancing their overall curriculum.

Classroom Expectations:

1. Students are required to bring their supplies to class every day.

2. Students will be SEATED and WORKING on the warm-up when the bell rings.

3. Students will demonstrate self-control and respect others, their learning time, property, and themselves. NO child has the right to interfere with another’s learning. Disturbances WILL NOT be excused or tolerated.

I'm looking forward to a successful and productive year as we all learn something new every day.
