FLOODING ASSISTANCE: DISPLACED STUDENTS

Lamar CISD is committed to helping children and families experiencing temporary displacement to overcome barriers to fully participate in our instructional programs.

If you were displaced during the recent Brazos River flooding and you have questions about your child’s educational options for the 2016-2017 school year—please contact your child's campus directly (beginning July 18) for important information and assistance.

You must contact your campus to determine what options are available to you for the upcoming school year.

Some common questions your campus can answer include:

• Can my child attend his/her home (2015-2016) campus even though we’ve moved?
• Is transportation available in our new location?
• What do we do if we aren’t planning to return to Lamar CISD?

THE MCKINNEY-VENTO HOMELESS ASSISTANCE ACT

The education provisions of the McKinney-Vento Act are designed to protect the educational rights of children experiencing homelessness or displacement.

If you were displaced from your home because of the recent flooding, please fill out the student residency questionnaire below and return it to your child’s campus as soon as possible (beginning July 18, 2016).

 Student Residency Questionnaire

If you are unable to return the questionnaire, please call your child’s school as soon as possible (beginning July 18, 2016). You can find your school’s contact information below.

Contact Your School

*Transportation information is available by contacting your 2015-2016 campus. If you will be attending a new school or school district, please contact your 2015-2016 campus to ensure proper documentation is transferred.
