Dear Students and Parents:
Most students and parents do not realize that as few as 7 questions can change an SAT score by 100 points, which can make a huge difference when trying to gain entrance into the college of one’s choice and earn valuable scholarship money. In an effort to help our students improve their PSAT/SAT scores, Lamar CISD is pleased to be offering an intensive six-hour Boot Camp, hosted by Test Prep Seminars, a nationally renowned test preparation provider, on Saturday, September 6, at Lamar High school or Saturday September 27 at Foster High School. This workshop is designed to give your son or daughter effective test-taking and time-management strategies that may help them realize a significant increase in their PSAT/SAT scores. If your son or daughter is planning to take the PSAT/SAT for college admissions or scholarships, we highly recommend this Boot Camp. The normal cost of this Boot Camp is $250. However, Lamar CISD is very committed to improving student test scores and is therefore making this program available to Lamar CISD students for only $50. The Boot Camp will be held on Saturday to allow as many students as possible to participate. This six-hour workshop is both effective and economical. Materials include 2 books for each participant, including 26 practice tests with detailed answers and explanations, as well as a strategy book to further complement your child’s learning.
There are two ways to register:
-visit www.testprepseminars.org, click on registration to find your school, and pay securely on-line.
-complete the enclosed registration envelope and include check or money order for $50 payable to Test Prep Seminars, and bring the envelope to Lamar High School on September 6 or Foster High School on September 27.
*Please be sure to bring your registration envelope, pen/pencil, highlighter, calculator and a lunch/snack with you to the Boot Camp.
