The BJH Lady Eagles 7th and 8th grade track teams placed 2nd at the district track meet on Thursday, March 26th.

The following athletes placed in running events for the 7th grade team: Jonisha Williams in 2nd in the 100 meter dash; Madison Wendt in 2nd, Taylor Wendt in 3rd, and Sharlyne Dimalanta in 5th in the 400 meter dash; Jori Aventurado in 2nd, Lia Castillo in 3rd, and Kaitlyn Wise in 6th in the 800 meter run; Lia Castillo in 5th and Jori Aventurado in 6th in the 1600 meter run; Macie Ellis in 5th in the 2400 meter run; Keely Castillo in 3rd and Maddie Ellis in 6th in the 100 meter hurdles; and Keely Castillo in 5th and Maddie Ellis in 6th in the 300 meter hurdles. The 4x100 meter relay (Jonisha Williams, Hannah Ajilore, Zipporah Harris, and Madison Wendt) took 4th. The 4x200 meter relay (Erin Coco, Alyvia Buford, Jonisha Williams, and Zipporah Harris) took 4th. The 4x400 meter relay (Taylor Wendt, Sharlyne Dimalanta, Zipporah Harris, and Madison Wendt) took 1st.

The following 7th grade athletes placed in field events: Najea Broadnax in 2nd and Hannah Ajilore in 3rd in long jump; Madison Wendt in 5th in high jump; Alexis Morin in 2nd in shot put; and Briana Creery in 2nd and Alexis Morin in 6th in discus.

The following athletes placed in running events for the 8th grade team: Ciarra Mata in 5th in the 100 meter dash; Kailah Thomas in 3rd in the 200 meter dash; Haley Etzler in 1st and Yamila Prado in 4th in the 400 meter dash; Taya Burke in 2nd in the 800 meter run; Taya Burke in 4th and Alexa Mungia in 5th in the 1600 meter run; Catherine Krieger in 3rd and Lauren Sulak in 5th in the 2400 meter run; Sydney Billings in 3rd, Erica Bertsch in 4th, and Maddie Maves in 5th in the 100 meter hurdles; and Maddie Maves in 3rd and Sydney Billings in 5th in the 300 meter hurdles. The 4x100 meter relay (Kailah Thomas, Phoebe Dillard, Sydney Billings, and Ciarra Mata) took 4th. The 4x200 meter relay (Journi Goodman, Valerie Carreon-Desai, Maddie Jacks, and Taylor Phung) took 6th. The 4x400 meter relay (Taylor Phung, Yamila Prado, Logan Cartwright, and Kailah Thomas) took 2nd.

The following 8th grade athletes placed in field events: Sydney Billings in 1st, Taylor Phung in 5th, and Maddie Maves in 6th in long jump; Sydney Billings in 1st and Haley Etzler in 3rd in triple jump; Maddie Jacks and Taya Burke in 2nd in high jump; Journi Goodman in 1st and Tola Ajayi in 4th in shot put; and Shelby Showers in 6th in discus.
