Briscoe 8th Boys District Champs; 7th Finish as Runner-ups

The BJH Eagles 7th grade boys track team finished 2nd at the district track meet in El Campo.  The 8th grade boys took home the district championship finishing 1st.  

The following athletes placed in running events for the 7th grade team:  in the 100m, Mario Simmons finished 4th; in the 200m Mario Simmons finished 4th; in the 400m Jonathan Davidson finished 4th, Truman Bexley 5th and Temi Badmus 6th; in the 800m, Brenden Humble finished 3rd and Sean Kelly 6th; in the 1600m, Brenden Humble finished 3rd and Spencer Olejniczak 5th; in the 2400m, Chase Albright finished 2nd, Spencer Olejniczak 3rd and Joey Burrhus 5th; in the 110m Hurdles, Jacob Perry finished 1st; in the 300m Hurdles, Jacob Perry finished 1st; in the 4x100m Relay,  the team of Truman Bexley, Jonathan Davidson, Garrett Cowart and Mario Simmons finished 3rd; in the 4x200m Relay, the team of Anthony Nguyen, Jacob Perry, Garrett Cowart and Shermar Jones finished 4th; in the 4x400m Relay, the team of Temi Badmus, Truman Bexley, Shermar Jones and Jonathan Davidson finished 3rd.  

The following 7th grade athletes placed in field events:  in long jump, Mario Simmons finished 1st and Jonathan Davidson 5th; in shot put, Marcus Mehaffey finished 3rd; in discus, Spencer Thompson finished 3rd; in triple jump, Mario Simmons finished 1st and Truman Bexley 5th; in pole vault, Sean Kelly finished 2nd, Jonathan Williams 4th and Reid Martinez 5th.

The following athletes placed in running events for the 8th grade team:  in the 100m, Jason McDonald finished 6th; in the 200m, Jason McDonald finished 3rd and Christopher Cobbin 6th; in the 400m, Christopher Cobbin finished 2nd and Collin Williams 4th; in the 800m, Collin Williams finished 1st, Tyler Marcheli 3rd and Tate Haugvoll 5th; in the 1600m, Cody Ewing finished 1st, Grayson Price 2nd  and Tyler Marcheli 3rd; in the 2400m, Grayson Price finished 1st, Cody Ewing 2nd and Tate Haugvoll 4th; in the 110m Hurdles, Blake Ropers finished 2nd; in the 300m Hurdles, Michael Marino finished 1st; in the 4x100m Relay, the team of Michael Marino, Jason McDonald, Jacob McCune and Tyler Larson finished 4th; in the 4x200m Relay, the team of Wisdom Uduebor, Michael Marino, Jacob McCune and Amryn Williams finished 3rd; in the 4x400m Relay, the team of Christopher Cobbin, Christian Barillas, Miles Miller and Collin Williams finished 1st.

The following 8th grade athletes placed in field events:  in long jump, Christian Barillas finished 1st and Jacob McCune 6th; in shot put, Dillon Clark finished 4th; in discus, James Nidoy finished 6th; in triple jump, Amryn Williams finished 1st and Christian Barillas 4th; in pole vault, Kendall Johnson finished 1st, Zachary Williams 2nd and Carson Smith 4th.
