The BJH Lady Eagles 7th and 8th grade track teams placed 2nd place at the Briscoe track meet on February 26th.

The following athletes placed in running events for the 7th grade team: Jonisha Williams in 6th in the 100 meter dash; Zipporah Harris in 6th in the 200 meter dash; Madison Wendt in 1st and Taylor Wendt in 3rd in the 400 meter dash; Lia Castillo in 2nd and Jori Aventurado in 3rd in the 800 meter run; Lia Castillo in 2nd, Jori Aventurado in 5th, and Kaitlyn Wise in 6th in the 1600 meter run; Amy Gomez in 6th in the 2400 meter run; Keely Castillo in 6th in the 100 meter hurdles; and Keely Castillo in 4th and Maddie Ellis in 5th in the 300 meter hurdles. The 4x100 meter relay (Jonisha Williams, Hannah Ajilore, Erin Coco, and Madison Wendt) took 4th. The 4x200 meter relay (Erin Coco, Jonisha Williams, Zipporah Harris, and Alyvia Buford) took 3rd. The 4x400 meter relay (Taylor Wendt, Sharlyne Dimalanta, Zipporah Harris, and Madison Wendt) took 1st.


The following athletes placed in running events for the 8th grade team: Ciarra Mata in 2nd in the 100 meter dash; Kailah Thomas in 3rd in the 200 meter dash; Haley Etzler in 1st and Yamila Prado in 6th in the 400 meter dash; Taya Burke in 4th and Haley Etzler in 5th in the 800 meter run; Taya Burke in 3rd and Alexa Mungia in 6th in the 1600 meter run; Catherine Krieger in 2nd, Lauren Sulak in 5th, and Mallory Marroquin in 6th in the 2400 meter run; Brittnye La’Mothe in 2nd, Sydney Billings in 3rd, and Erica Bertsch in 4th in the 100 meter hurdles; and Maddie Maves in 1st and Sydney Billings in 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles. The 4x200 meter relay (Maddie Jacks, Journi Goodman, Phoebe Dillard, and Valerie Carreon-Desai) took 6th. The 4x400 meter relay (Kailah Thomas, Yamila Prado, Taylor Phung, and Haley Etzler) took 1st.
