Astronotes for September 7, 2016

Sep 07, 2016 | Bud Whileyman

Our fall fundraiser will be running for the next 2 weeks.  Support of these activities help to fund many extra materials and events that benefit all of our students.  Last year’s fundraising allowed us to purchase the new digital marquee for the school.  This year the PTO would like to provide shaded playground areas for the students.  Other contributions from the PTO include field trips for all grade levels and a trip for all students to the local high schools to see a play.  We also encourage you to join our PTO and become part of your child’s school.

Next week 5th graders will be taking COGAT tests on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  We asked that these students not be disturbed during the testing periods.  These tests have an impact on class placement in the 6th grade so make sure your child is rested and ready for these assessments.

If you would like more information on being a volunteer at our school, there will be a volunteer meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14 in the school cafeteria.  Room parents and grade level coordinators will also receive information on their role for the year at the meeting.
