We are headed into our last break of the school year with the Easter holidays coming this weekend.  Students and staff will be off Friday and Monday.  When students come back on Tuesday our 4^th and 5^th graders will be taking their first STAAR tests of the year.  Fifth grade will be taking their math test on Tuesday and their reading test on Wednesday.  These are very important tests for our 5^th grade students, as one of the requirements for promotion to 6^th grade is successful completion of the mandated state assessment tests in reading and math.  Our 4^th graders will be taking their writing test on Tuesday.  This year there will only be one day of writing with one prompt instead of the 2 days that were required in the past years.  Please make sure your 4^th and 5^th grade students get to bed early on Monday night so that they can be fresh and prepared for the testing on Tuesday.  Many times after a long weekend break students come back very tired and not functioning at 100%.  We want our students to be able to give their best effort on these very important state tests.
