Don’t forget that we will be having our 2nd nine weeks success assemblies this Friday at 8:15, 9:15, and 2:00. The assemblies will be in the cafeteria and we look forward to seeing you celebrate your child’s successes.
Congratulations to our recent Spelling Bee winner, Carlos Martinez. He will be invited to participate in the next round of the district competition. Also congratulations to our runner-up winner, Journee Sample. Both of these students performed well under the pressure of the contest. It can be difficult trying to spell words with all of your peers watching you during the tense moments. All of our participants should be commended for their participation in this event.
Our new group of Peer Mediators will be training this week and next preparing for any future student intervention needs. This program is coordinated by our counselor, Rita Willis. She has been involved with this activity for many years and feels it has been very useful in settling student problems. All of the students enjoy participating and they learn some very valuable lessons on how to deal with conflict.
