We had another great carnival this past Friday. The turnout and weather were great. The students seem to really enjoy all of the activities. Thanks to everyone that helped to make this year’s carnival another successful one. This year we had the carnival on a Friday night instead of Saturday afternoon. In the past we would have conflicts with soccer, baseball, and other activities on Saturday that many of our students participate in. There is never a perfect day to have the carnival as I am sure even Friday had some conflicts. If you have a preference for next year, please contact a PTO Board member at the beginning of school next year. Even though we are not going to make everyone happy, we will try to choose the day that is best for the majority of parents. Next week, we have our first nine weeks parent conferences. You will receive your child’s report card and a brief update on how he/she is doing in class. This is a great time to ask questions and get clarification on anything that you are confused about. If you have already not done so, please schedule a time and date for this important meeting.
Finally, don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour this Sunday as daylight savings time comes to an end. We don’t want you arriving an hour early to school and have to wait for the doors to open. The hour of morning light will come sooner and the darkness of the evening will occur earlier. We will all have to make adjustments to our schedules. Have a great weekend and enjoy the extra hour of sleep!
