Astronotes for October 30, 2013

Oct 29, 2013 | Bud Whileyman

WOW! What a great carnival we had this past weekend.  The turnout was good, the weather was great, and the event was well organized.  Everyone I talked to felt the carnival was one of the best ones we have had.  Thanks to all of the people who helped in making it such a great success.

This Friday we have two grade levels that will be going on field trips.  Third grade will be going to George Ranch and 5th grade will be going to a Lake Jackson Fish Hatchery.  Be sure you have turned in your child’s permission slips so that they can attend with their grade level.

Next week we will be having parent conferences so that the teachers can discuss individual students with their parents.  Report cards will be given out and parents may ask any questions about how their child is doing.  Early release days will be Thursday, November 7th and Friday, November 8thStudents will be released at 11:30.  Next Tuesday will be voting day here at Austin.  Polls will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.  We encourage you to vote!

Finally, don’t forget to set your clocks back this coming Sunday as daylight savings time comes to an end.  Clocks should be moved back one hour Sunday evening. (Fall back spring forward)  It will actually be light when the students arrive at school next Monday!
