The Austin Elementary Cosmic Choir will begin rehearsals, Feb. 18th. Rehearsals will be every Tuesday afternoon from dismissal time until 4:00. Choir is available to any 4th or 5th grade student that is interested. Students must be passing all classes and have good conduct.
All students participating must return a signed permission slip (see attached) and have made prior transportation arrangements. Students that are picked-up more than three times (after 4:15) will not be able to participate in choir. Students are required to sign the permission slip also stating that they are aware of the commitment they are making.
This semester choir will be performing a musical, “Tall Tales and Heroes”. Students will be required to provide their own costume for this program. Details regarding costumes will be sent home once auditions have been completed. The performance for this musical will be Tuesday, May 13th at 7:00 p.m. (There will also be a day performance for the school @ 1:00 on the 5/13.) A final dress rehearsal for all choir members will be Monday, May 12th from 2:30 to 4:00 with complete costumes.
Auditions for speaking/acting parts will be Monday, February 24th from 2:30 to 4:00. If students are interested in auditioning, they will need to sign up for an audition time outside of the music room. Those students that receive acting parts will be required for additional rehearsals on Monday afternoons from 2:30 to 4:00.
