Charlene Tevis - 2007 First place national winner of the Samsung/Microsoft Hope for Education award.  Mrs. Tevis has been awarded $60,000 of Samsung hardware and Microsoft software for the Wessendorff campus.

Wessendorff Middle School received three Gold Performance Acknowledgements from the Texas Education Agency for the 2004-2005 school year.  Attendance rates of 96% or above. Commended Performance in Reading—20% of all students and each student group commended on TAKS. Comparable Improvement in Reading—Average Texas Growth Index in top quartile of 40 similar schools.
