Gifted/Talented Program
- Students with extraordinary ability in a
specific subject area are tested and admitted, based on the test results
and parent approval, into the Gifted/Talented Program. These
students are put on a "fast track" and given the option of taking Pre-AP
courses at George that lead to Advanced Placement courses in high
school. Currently, George is a pilot school for an independent study
project called Performance Standards
. This project is a requirement of all 8th grade G/T
students. Students are given the option of choosing a Math, Social
Studies, Science or Language Arts-based project to explore and
research.
GJHS Scholarship - The
George staff sponsors a $500 college scholarship, given annually to a
graduating B. F. Terry High School student who attended George in 7th and
8th grades. We love our students, both past
and current.
