Find Your
Niche.
George has a wide variety of clubs and organizations, with both selective
and open enrollment, so that each student can find something of
interest. These organizations include:
S.W.A.T.
- Students With A Testimony
This
organization is open to all students who would like to share their testimony with
their peers. They meet every Wednesday morning at 7:30 AM in the
forum.
National Junior Honor Society This is
a selective group that provides community service,
peer tutoring and sponsorship of social functions on campus. Selection of new members
occurs each spring for the following school year. Meetings are in
the mornings before school.
GJHS Cheerleaders
In addition to serving as spirit leaders at athletic
events, our cheerleaders serve as student ambassadors and
representatives within the community. They participate in the Ft. Bend County Fair parade and
serve as guides and hostesses at many school functions.
C.A.T.E. - Career
and Technology Education Students
work with an award-winning technology instructor to build and demonstrate
various projects of their own making. A select
group of students compete in state-wide tournaments each spring.
F.C.C.L.A. - Family, Career and Community Leaders of
America This group is open to all students
who wish to learn more about the needs of families and the role
of home economics in our community. Members
also work on research projects that are presented and judged at the state meet each
spring.
G.O.E - Girls Of Excellence This club promotes leadership,
compassion, and responsibility. Many of the values a member will
gain from the club and promote throughout the school and the community are:
responsibility, honesty, a positive attitude, respect, integrity, high
expectations, and life-long learning. Meetings are typically held on
Mondays from 4-5 PM.
