1st 6 weeks 7th Grade Social Studies Activity Several European explorers got to Texas and were affected not only by the trip, but by the natives who already lived here. Have students choose one explorer to research and “become”. Using their findings, have the students write a post card to their family back home describing their experiences. Have them include their hardships, findings, and feelings about the people and land they discovered. Use the website below and textbook for research purposes. Use the post card template to develop the final product to share with the class.
