George Junior High School is dedicated to the ideal of empowering our students to become respectful, responsible and productive citizens through an academically challenging curriculum that will allow them to become life-long learners .

George provides an exciting and caring learning environment that allows students to excel in both academics and extra-curricular activities. Our teachers work hard at "creating smallness within bigness" for their students. Each interdisciplinary team has a name, color, and cheer which are reflected in their halls, celebrations, contests, and parties.

In addition to the required courses of language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and physical education, there are a variety of electives from which students can choose. These include Choir, Theatre Arts, Band, Art, Speech, Spanish, Skills for Living, Journalism, Horticulture and Industrial Technology. Our major sports program offers competition in football, basketball, volleyball, track, and tennis.

Students are able to join a variety of special interest clubs, activities and programs to match their interests.  These include F.C.C.L.A., Mathcounts, Science Club, S.W.A.T., Cheerleading and more. Students are recognized at academic pep rallies each semester for their academic achievements, sportsmanship and citizenship.
