Pre-AP
For the 2009-2010 school year, Lamar CISD will
implement the last phase of course levels for grades 6 through
8.
In Social Studies, Science, and ELA, there will
be two levels.
In Mathematics, there will be three
levels:

Pre-AP Grade Level TEKS- The course
sequence will be Math 6, Math 7, and Math 8.

Pre-AP Compacted Grade Level TEKS-A student
will cover a year and a half of TEKS during one school year. The
course sequence will be Math 6/7, Math 7/8, and Algebra 1. Any
student who does not meet the standards for Algebra 1 will be placed in
Math 8.

GT Pre-AP Compacted Grade Level TEKS- A
student will need to be identified as GT for this level. Any
student who does not meet the standards for Algebra 1, will be placed in
Math 8.
