Special Programs at Terry High School

Student Assistance Program (SAP)- Program assists students who are experiencing academic, behavioral, or emotional difficulties, yet may not seem to respond to or qualify for existing services. An administrator, counselors, teachers, nurse, and special program consultants make up the core team that helps screen students and determine what resources are best suited to help.

ACT Testing- Administered at THS in April & June.

Summer School — A summer school TAKS tutorial program serves students who have not passed the E/LA, math, social studies, or science sections of the Exit-level TAKS test.
College/Career Center Computers and software designed to help students choose careers, training schools, colleges and universities. Catalogs and information for various Texas and out-of-state colleges and universities are available for student use including military pamphlets.
Dual Credit/Concurrent Enrollment Offered through Wharton County Jr. College in association with LCISD enabling your child to earn college credit while in high school.
PALS (Peer Assistance Leadership) — Focuses on building leadership within peer groups. A second year of PALS is offered for students who maintain an interest in working with other students.

Academic Decathlon- Independent study course to prepare students for the Academic Decathlon competition.

Leadership High School Program offered for students wishing to develop strong leadership skills.
Gifted and Talented Coordination Provides sessions on developing portfolios, stress/time management, and interviews. 
Superintendent's Student Advisory Committee Selected students meet on a monthly basis with the Superintendent.
PLATO Lab Provides individualized computer-assisted instruction for our students.

Credit Restoration Program Available only for those students who are eligible based on age and credits. Students are in a self-paced computer based program, supplemented with teacher instruction, to learn objectives not yet mastered.

Extended Day Credit Restoration- Available to students who did not earn credit in a previous course. Students work in a self-paced computer based program to restore a credit  on their own time before and after school and on Saturday mornings.
