Tutorials — Time is allotted during the school day to help students who need assistance.

Life Skills Inclusion — Life skills students work with other students in a regular classroom setting.

CCC Lab — Individualized computer-assisted program in reading and math. All students receive at least one lesson per day.

LCISD UIL Competition — District-wide academic competition for teams of students in math, reading, music memory and other areas.

IALAC (I Am Lovable And Capable) Club — A counseling and motivational club to help at-risk students build self-esteem and be successful.

Extended Day — Students who need help mastering TAKS objectives are served in an after-school program.

Class with Class — Good behavior is rewarded with "apples", which act as points that can be redeemed for class rewards.

Buddy Classes — Students in grades 3-5 have Buddy Classes from grades K-2. They serve as mentors and share classroom visits.

The Right Choice Program — A school-wide program in which students learn the value and importance of making the right choices in all areas of their lives. The positive benefits of making the right choices are emphasized in all areas.

Student Council - Students' homerooms from grades 3-5 exhibit leadership skills through representation and community service.

2 x 2 Reading Program – In order to prepare students for choosing popular Bluebonnet books, this program was developed for the primary grades.  Students read from a recommended book list for grades K-2.

Rodeo Art - Students in all grades will display their artistic talent and have a chance to have their work entered in the Houston Livestock & Rodeo Art Contest.

Meyer Eagle Choir - Students in 4th and 5th grade are invited to participate.  The choir performs at the annual Veterans Day Program, Winter Holiday Program, Spring PTO program, and at area nursing homes and at other places in the community.

LCISD Select Elementary Choir - Four students from Meyer Elementary are invited to represent our campus in this elite choral group that is composed of students from each elementary campus in our district.  Meyer Elementary School music teacher Phyllis Janke is one of the co-founders and serves as accompanist for this group.

Herald Coaster - Students in 5th grade report and publish local school events.

UIL - Teams of students in grades 2-5 compete along with elementary teams from other schools in the district in spelling, ready writing, poetry reading, storytelling, and other elementary University Interscholastic League events.

Houston Chronicle Spelling Bee - Students in grades 3-5 compete to be able to take part at the county and regional levels.

Accelerated Reader - Students participate in a reading management program. Students receive points which can be used for the incentive store and other rewards.

Guest Authors - Throughout the year guest authors of children's books are invited to Meyer to share their experience of writing and love of literature.

Development Guidance Program - provided for all students through classroom guidance lessons. Small group and individual counseling are offered as needed by the school counselor.

Grade-level Meetings - Teachers meet by grade levels to coordinate efforts to accommodate student needs.

Site Based Committee - Team leaders from each grade level and special programs meet for campus-wide planning, collaboration, and decision-making
Word of Wisdom– Students are given a motivational thought by a well known person each day via morning announcements and are encouraged to live out these action.
Televised Announcements – Students present the morning announcements in a news format with an anchor and co-anchor, and participation from classroom students
