Computer Information

The staff at Meyer Elementary strives to give your child the best education possible.  We believe one of the ways to do this is to teach using different methods.  The use of Technology is just one of these methods.  Daily students at Meyer are actively involved in learning using computers from checking reading comprehension by taking an Accelerated Reader quiz to reviewing math and reading skills in our CCC lab.  They also access many sites through the internet for research.  While at school we can monitor and block sites that are not considered appropriate through software called BESS, however; at home you do not have this luxury.  We encourage you to carefully monitor the sites your child visits and the friends they chat with or email.  The following are contracts you may want to use with your family.

Students are encouraged to use the following sites for research.  These are encyclopedias and databases that the school district pays for and are considered educational sites.  If your student uses these sites they will have access to the best information possible with the least likelihood that they will encounter anything undesirable.
