meeting student needs.

Club - Under the direction of our art teacher, students create and
explore special projects.

Program - Small group tutorials are provided after school to remediate
specific skills.

Bluebonnet
Reading Program – Students in the 3rd, 4th,
and 5th grades read books from the Texas Bluebonnet Award list
in order to vote on their favorite book and participate in a celebration.

Character
Education - Counselors teach and discuss universal values.
|

Media
Club - Students conduct a daily news broadcast. They operate the camera
and present school news via a television broadcast every morning.

UIL
- Teams of students in grades 2nd, 3rd, 4th,
and 5th grade compete against elementary teams from other schools
in the Interscholastic League events.

Houston
Chronicle Spelling Bee – Students in 3rd, 4th,
and 5th grade compete to be able to take part at the county
and regional levels.

Student
Council - Provides students with an opportunity to
develop leadership skills as they work together to complete school sponsered
service projects.

Safety
Patrol - provides leadership opportunities for fifth graders in assisting
all students in their safe arrival and dismissal.

Gifted
and Talented Program - Our GT Facilitator coordinates enrichment activities
for kindergarten through the 5th grade.

Honor
Choir - Under the direction of our music teacher, students participate
in musicals and special performances.

Accelerated
Readers - A computerized reading management program for kindergarten - 5th
graders. The students receive points which help them earn special
prizes.

Guest
Authors - Throughout the year guest authors
of children’s books are invited to Frost to share their experience of writing and
love of literature.
S.W.A.T. - Students Working to Advance
Technology - This team of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will
use their technology knowledge to complete projects with other students
who share their same technology interest. Together members will work
to advance technology at Frost.
