Special Programs

 

Grade-level Meetings — Teachers meet by grade levels to coordinate efforts in meeting student needs.

 

Tutorial Program — Individual and small-group tutorials are provided within the school day to remediate specific skills.

 

Bluebonnet Reading Program — Students in the intermediate grades read books from the Texas Bluebonnet Award list in order to vote on their favorite book and participate in a celebration.

 

Right Choice Program — Social skills program that focuses on teaching students to become responsible for their conduct and accept the consequences of their choices.

 

Character Education — Counselors teach and discuss universal values.

 

Gifted and Talented Program — Our GT Facilitator coordinates enrichment activities for kindergarten through the fifth grade.

 

4th & 5th Grade Choir — Under the direction of our music teacher, students participate in musicals and special performances.

 

Accelerated Readers — A computerized reading management program for third, fourth and fifth graders. The students receive points which they may spend at our incentive store.

 

UIL (University Interscholastic League) — An elementary scholastic competition.
