Who decides
how the money is spent?
The Lamar Educational
Awards Foundation Board of Directors has final approval of grant awards
as recommended by the Grant Committee. This committee is responsible for
the review of proposals for projects and programs that will improve and
enhance classroom education.

Where does
the money go?
Several grant proposals are submitted to the
Education Foundation each year. Proposals received by LEAF undergo an
extensive review process. The number of grants awarded depends upon the
amount of money raised through the Education
Foundation's annual
fundraising events. Events include Men Who Cook and Surf's Up, School's
Out with the Triumphs.
Can LCISD mandate how the
money is to be
used?
The Lamar Educational
Awards Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. It is not a
part of the school district and is governed by its own Board of Directors.
The money contributed to the Foundation can only be used by the Foundation
under the direction of its Board of Directors .
